On April 28, industry leaders, partners, and innovators gathered in Stockholm for the inaugural Taptalk — an exclusive evening hosted by Tapeeze to spotlight the future of payment cards and the growing relevance of physical design in a digital world.
The event brought together key partners TAG Systems, Tietoevry Banking, and Mastercard, all of whom are instrumental in enabling the Tapeeze vision: to create premium, personalized, and tokenized cards that consumers actually want to carry.
From Concept to Reality
The evening kicked off with an introduction by Thomas Rex, Chairman of the Board, followed by Fredrik Martinsson, Co-founder and CEO, who walked the audience through the Tapeeze journey — from early idea to full-scale market launch.
Attendees got a first look at the Tapeeze card: a top-of-wallet payment solution that transforms any bank account into a personalized statement piece. With flexible materials, instant tokenization, and no need for banks to issue the card, the model offers speed, design freedom, and true consumer choice.
Why Now?
Filippa Adolfsson, CMO at Tapeeze, outlined why this moment matters. "Cards are used an average of six times per week. That's six branding opportunities — every week. Unlike traditional ads, cards offer functional, continuous exposure." She also pointed to the 7.5% projected annual growth in global card issuance, and the fact that 93% of consumers carry their payment card daily.
Insights from Our Partners
Børre Midtgard of TAG Systems highlighted the role of metal and sustainable cards in customer acquisition and retention. With operational reach across more than 170 countries, TAG Systems is a critical partner in scaling Tapeeze internationally.
Tapio Vailahti from Tietoevry Banking shared insights on sustainability, smart packaging, and the shift towards biometric and premium card options. As the Nordic leader in card services, Tietoevry's infrastructure is foundational to Tapeeze's mission.
A Night of Ideas and Connections
Taptalk wasn't just a product showcase — it was a conversation. The Q&A session ran long. Drinks were poured late. And what started as a presentation turned into a buzzing exchange of ideas about identity, payment trends, and the power of tangible brand experiences in a contactless world.
We thank all our speakers, partners, and guests who made the night what it was. If this was Taptalk 1.0, we can't wait for what comes next.
